Woodrow Wylde - [Peter, Falling 2 : Youth Odysey] 3rd Album

Release Date: May 26, 2026

For a long time, I envied Peter Pan — not so much for his ability to fly, but for the fact that he wasn't afraid of falling. Then one night, staring blankly out a window, a thought suddenly struck me: perhaps the truly terrifying thing isn't falling, but losing the reason to fly again.

In 2021, while making my first album Peter, Falling, I always felt the need to give love to someone. It felt as though I could only truly exist if there was somewhere for that love to reach. Giving love was like breathing — like someone more accustomed to exhaling than inhaling, I always reached out first. That album was a record of that season: fluttering, bumping into things, falling down, and yet running again. Looking back now, I think I was lost somewhere between love and longing. I didn't realise, then, just how different faces those two things wore.

A few years passed. This time, I loved more deeply — forgetting the word "caution." I risked everything, and so when I lost, I lost everything. For a while, I couldn't even play the music I liked, afraid a familiar melody might touch somewhere unexpected. Peter Pan fell again, and this time, he lay on the floor for quite a long time.

But something strange happened. The floor wasn't as bad as I'd imagined. It was quiet, and it asked nothing of me. And for the first time, in the place where all the noise had settled, I started to see myself clearly — how my emotions flow, where my voice resonates, what I truly want. Only then did I understand that I no longer needed to prove myself by pouring out love. It took a long time for that distinction to become clear: how different it is to give simply because you can, versus giving out of anxiety if you don't.

So I named this album Youth Odyssey. It took Odysseus ten years to return home. Along the way, he faced storms, fell in love, and encountered new people and new opportunities. He was a hero, but above all, he was someone who kept moving forward — and I think that is very much like the time we call youth. The fact that every loss carried me one step further, that loss and progress were actually the same thing. Perhaps we can only say we "spent our youth" from the moment all of those things finally begin to look like a single journey.

I once believed pain would fade with age. It hasn't. But I no longer panic in the face of it the way I used to. Whether that means I've grown stronger, grown accustomed, or whether it's simply another name for acceptance — I still don't know.

I hope this music reaches you. On that night at three in the morning, unable to sleep for no reason. On the day your heart was heavy all day because of a single message you regretted sending. On that autumn when the season changed before you could finally say I like you. On the moment you stood before a mirror, staring at an unfamiliar face. On that evening when you felt like an island, even surrounded by people.

All of that was part of this journey. The moments you felt you might shatter, the nights it seemed things would never get better, the tears shed in secret, the words that lingered only in your heart because you couldn't voice them — these are not proof that you were weak, but proof that you lived with your whole heart. That you loved fully, fought with everything you had, and fell. What life could be braver than that?

Peter Pan flew again every time he fell. And you will too — because you already have. I hope this album becomes a quiet companion somewhere on your odyssey. Peter Pan is still flying. Now, a little more quietly, and a little more freely.
